about
This was the first apple rabbits album, recently re-mastered for release on their new label - Kilburn State Records.
It started out as a load of demos on Jay Fishers laptop. Some of the tracks already had a lot of programming done for them so we decided to keep it all and use the demos as guide tracks, replacing all the live instruments with musicians recorded at Bentham Studio.
Drummer extraordinaire Toby Baron turned up and filled the live room with two drum kits so we could have a choice of sound for different tracks, we used one kit as a fully mic'd up stereo set and the other as a mono set with just two mics.
After the drums were down we added flutes and whistles from Jason Hull, violins and violas from Debbie Wolfsohn. Jay played pretty much everything else. We then spent several weeks editing and mixing it all. Job done - Nice!

Located in the grounds of Bentham House, Bentham Studio has inspiring views overlooking the Wiltshire ... more countryside.

It features a large wooden live room, creating an excellent sound for acoustic instruments, with room for a whole band to record live.

There is also a vocal booth for recording without reverb as well as a chill out room (which can be used as another live room) and kitchen. less
